Seis Garritas

At Seis Garritas we managed to sustain ourselves and remain open despite the pandemic. With all the relevant hygiene and safety measures, we continued with our sales. The store allowed us to make clients aware of the care they should have in the health emergency. We shared with them the importance of preventive care such as the use of face masks and hand washing so that they could enter the space. And, despite being a difficult year, we continued to sell quality clothing, objects, and accessories for the community without putting their health and that of the Seis Garritas operators at risk. This allowed us to create and maintain jobs for three women during the pandemic. In addition, we expanded our market: one of our employees was trained to start making online sales!

Seis Garritas

We receive and sell clothes, accessories, furniture and household items in good condition, to be sold in Seis Garritas, our store / bazaar. The resources generated provide employment for young women seeking to finance their studies or single mothers with financial needs, as well as helping us to continue operating the rest of our projects.

Impact

  • We employ and train 3 women.

  • We operate 1 physical store and start with online sales.

  • Despite the pandemic, we managed to secure the necessary resources to maintain ourselves as a source of employment

"It was a complicated year and yet for Seis Garritas it was a year that motivated us to create strategies to continue generating resources. Sharing with people the importance of taking care of ourselves and getting people to start following the measures of use of face masks was a constant effort: it was part of the job. I feel proud to continue being part of Imaginalco and to see how new members arrive and make new learning. "

Lourdes Nadxiiellii Escobar Moreno, Coordinator of Six Garritas.
