Xoloplastics

In 2019 Xoloplastics is born, our artistic, educational, productive and sustainable project. It arises with the double objective of promoting decent employment and job training for the young people we work with, and contributing to the financial sustainability of the organization.

We create works of art with a positive social and environmental impact. We promote community development, labor inclusion and recycling of disused plastics by transforming them into pieces of art. In this way, we continue to advance our goals for young people to live full lives and choose their ways of life, while also joining the fight against climate change.

During my time at Xoloplastics, I learned many things that helped me grow as a person and in the workplace. The best experience was working on the conditioning of the place, since it is where the entire project takes place. In the process I learned about the tools we need and how to use them correctly. I am very pleased to have participated in the development of the first murals, giving suport in the screen printing process.

Seis Garritas

At Seis Garritas, through the sale of clothing, accessories, furniture and household items, we give a second life to the donations in kind we receive. We create decent jobs with personalized psychosocial monitoring for young women and single mothers who collaborate with us, we support the local economy of Malinalco, we offer an alternative to buy very good quality objects at affordable prices within the community and we also use the profits to feed the sustainability of our other social projects.

In 2019, Imaginalco and the Malinalco Community Foundation collaborate to ensure the education and training of three young women participating in the Six Garritas project. The promotion of this process is an example of the value of alliances between organizations to achieve common objectives. And the challenges they face are also a reflection of the problems faced by women in a context of inequity and violence of many kinds.

Before being part of the Six Garritas project, I was a very isolated person. Working here has helped me to be more sociable, through coexistence and the attention I give to clients. Before, I only did what the others wanted, but with the monitoring they have given us in Imaginalco, I have learned to develop myself according to what I feel and want. I am a happier person and my relationships have improved a lot, I am closer to my family.
